The Pressure to Stay Relevant

Many young people experience significant stress and a risk of burnout from the constant demand to post, engage, and keep up with the ever-changing stream of online trends. This pressure to maintain a visible and relevant online presence, measured by likes and followers, often feels mandatory. It is essential for adults and peers to reinforce the message that taking a break is healthy and that genuine, real-life well-being holds far more value than fleeting digital popularity or maintaining an audience.  The economic incentive and the creator economy should be noted. For many young users, the pressure to "stay relevant" is tied to a hope or expectation of monetization, turning a social activity into a stressful, performance-driven endeavor.
